The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in California aged 55.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The celebrated industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and burst into flames on a motorway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
