Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Killed in the City of Johannesburg.

A popular South African media personality and entertainer has been shot dead in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country battling rampant crime.

Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on a Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the 40-year-old presenter was accosted by three suspects, with one opened fire on him before running away.

The purpose behind the attack is unknown and no suspects have been apprehended have taken place, according to authorities.

Details of the Attack

Police said that Stock was targeted as he was exiting a building close to the city center landmark.

He had spent several hours at the building overseeing the installation of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unknown people, according to reports.

"It is alleged the victim was confronted by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they began shooting at him before running from the location on foot," authorities confirmed.

CCTV footage reportedly captured a suspect with dreadlocks and clad in what looked like a guard's attire opening fire on Stock before running away.

The DJ attempted to flee after he was hit but collapsed across the street.

Police added that Stock had an weapon on his person and nothing was taken during the attack.
