Netflix Selects Ideal Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is set to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.

The platform declared Tuesday that the talented performer has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bentham. Bon Clay can use their power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The actor, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that role re-envisioned as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action series, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.

This performer will work alongside multiple new cast members who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, such as leader Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and a familiar face, who is also part of the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.

Although Bon Clay is a important part of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the placement of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the character. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
