Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The effort hopes to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.

“It has a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of musicians featured on Lullaby encompasses a group of well-known figures from the industry. All were part of the earlier concert, which managed to collect a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a group of producers and composers. The single features a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The group managing the campaign have clarified that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These donations will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was characterized as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of property described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a few million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and showing that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
